I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for everything you have done to try to heal little Maddie. Yesterday, the doctors determined that she was "brain dead".. this means that there is no brain activity, and that the only thing keeping her alive is the life support machine.
Here is Natalie's message from this morning:
"When we were given the news about my baby's brain last night I told her team they needed to get her out of the crib and into a ”big bed”. Madison always loved sleeping with me in my ”big bed” & asked for a queen sized of her own before. I have layed with her to sleep for 4 hours and finally could somewhat rest before I needed some Tylenol and crying time. Although I know her brain isn't functioning and her soul isn't there, her heart is beating and I can't let go of her body yet. She does not feel pain or suffering. If she did I wouldn't allow it to go on but we know she doesn't. Although I haven't responded to people on here, I'm constantly on here so that I feel everyones support and prayers. I love hearing about Madison and seeing her pictures. Words cannot describe this hell and leaving here will be the start of a whole nother hell"
People are going by the hospital today to say goodbye to Maddie, then her mom will take her off the life support. Please continue to keep Natalie in your thoughts and prayers. She will need lots of love and support going forward.

I cannot tell you what it has meant to me personally to see so many of my friends and their friends and the friends of those friends, etc.. total strangers to Maddie and Natalie spending all night long praying and sending healing and keeping her in your thoughts.. human beings are truly wonderful creatures, and your willingness to try to help save the life of a three year old stranger is touching beyond words. I send love and gratitude out to each and every one of you for your kindness and love toward this family.
While the outcome was not what we wanted,certainly hug yourselves for your attempts and sacrifices.
